My dear beloved sisters in Christ, I have great joy in reaching you through this message. I bless you in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The word of God says : “Unless the Lord builds the house they who labour in vain who build it “  ( Psalm 127:1)

It is the Lord who unites a man and woman in holy matrimony as man and wife and builds the house. The word of God says children are the heritage from the Lord. However, it should be kept in mind that, it is the parents who should rear the children in the ways of the Lord. Both the father and mother have equal responsibility in this.

Turning back to the Holy Bible, we see Timothy was brought up in faith and truthfulness in Christ right from his childhood. It is mentioned that his faith was genuine. Paul quotes thus in II Timothy 1:5  “ Where I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice , and I am persuaded is in you also “

Timothy’s father was Greek and mother of  Jewish origin. His mother brought him in true faith of the Lord. ( Acts 16:1-3) . Whatever challenges she might have faced including  marriage to  a gentile, she diligently brought the child in the ways of the Lord. She deserves much appreciation for making Timothy as a man of God. The faith imbibed by the young Timothy from his mother made him fruitful  in his ministry to preach the good news.

Paul says : “ Therefore I  remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands” ( II Timothy 1:6)

Yes, my dear sisters in Christ, it is our bounden duty as mothers to bring our children in His faith through their childhood and youth. This would only enable them to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and be fruitful in their ministry. So, whatever may be the family circumstances, let us devote to bring our children in genuine faith as Timothy’s mother did. May the Lord bless our family in this endeavour.

We praise you and thank you for the wonderful family and children. Please guide us and help us to bring our children in genuine and fervent faith in You, irrespective of situations we live in. We seek this in the name of our Lord and Saviour  Jesus Christ.
